Celebrating 25 years
June saw our employee-owned agency celebrate a landmark milestone – 25 years in business. C21 was founded in 1998 with just five employees – three of whom are still with the company – and big ambitions. We take enormous pride in everything we produce, always going above and beyond for our clients – which is part of the reason why we have such longstanding relationships with them. Some have been with us since the very start.
However, big change came two years ago, when C21 became employee-owned, with Managing Director Christina Clarke, transferring 100% of the company’s shares to its employees. A bold move, but for Christina, a natural step to take. She recognised C21’s employees are intrinsic to maintaining exceptional project management, delivering courageous creativity and driving purposeful change.
A team of experts
Over the years, we have been privileged to work with diverse, talented people who have helped us get to where we are today. However, three people have been central to our success providing consistent, unparalleled service and setting the benchmark for our high standards in creativity and client relationships. Roof party
To celebrate our momentous achievement, we hosted a rooftop celebration designed to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped shape C21 into the vibrant organisation it is today. We invited valued clients and suppliers as well as former colleagues to share some delicious locally sourced food (supplied by Tender Cow) and drinks, and party the evening away in the sunshine. And to kick the party up a gear we had some fantastic music provided by Hudson.
It was great to see so many old friends. Former colleagues who have moved on to exciting new roles in new cities, clients we love working with and suppliers who have helped us deliver everything from wall graphics to exhibition stands to video campaigns. We pimped our Proseccos and feasted on some delicious food before dancing the night away on our newly refurbished roof terrace. We’re so pleased the sun was shining on us all evening making this a real evening to remember.

Despite our home in the North West of England, our clients are based internationally, covering multiple continents. Unfortunately, some of our most longstanding clients couldn’t attend our thank you party. That’s why to celebrate the relationships with our clients further afield, we are donating to three international charities, so our mission to create change together can help to make a difference to those who really need our support.
Closing words
C21 has always been blessed with employees who really care. Alongside those who have been with us since the beginning, a large proportion have been with us for over a decade, while others have left and returned bringing new experiences and insight. This is why clients remain loyal, secure in the knowledge that staff will not only pull out all the stops to produce great strategic creative but that they always go the extra mile no matter the ask.
